Hi friends! I am from a small town called Long Beach, Mississippi. Not California, not New York, just little old Mississippi.
I am pursuing my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a Graphic Design major and an Art History minor at the University of South Alabama. While in school, I developed design sensibilities in a critique-based environment. My specialties are Branding, Publication, and Web Design.
I often find it hard to talk about myself without first talking about the women who shaped me (you know who you are <3). For now I’ll just mention one: My Great-Grandmother (Nana) was an artist of life but had a great affinity for painting and sewing. From the moment she put a paintbrush in my hand, I knew I could hang up my short-lived, childhood dream of being a veterinarian. With each creative act, I feel more at home with myself and like this is what I am meant to be doing.
I have found a great love for all things design, and I am pretty good at it. Graphic Design in its simplest form is a strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt quickly. These skills allow me to bring to life the ideas of myself and others. I think of it like translating ideas. Everyone has wonderful ideas but not everyone can put pen to paper (or mouse to table) and actualize them; this is my passion.
In the future, I have dreams of city life. The energy, excitement, and collaborative abilities that city living could offer me are intoxicating. I hope you know my commitment to the collaborative process of design and I look forward to creating something wonderful together!
